We Made It!

It is 7:59 A.M right now, here in Bangkok, on the other side of the world. The last 29 hours have been the longest 29 hours of my life. At one point, I thought I was going to go mad on the 14 hour plane ride to Japan, but, Delta did have a great movie choice selection and I was able to catch up on all the movies I’ve been wanting to watch but didn’t have time for because of school and work. I’M IN THAILAND!! I spoke to my parents around 2:30 A.M (we’re always going to be 12hrs ahead of Florida) and my dad said Japan had a big earthquake hit them which closed their airports about 45 minutes after we took off. While we were waiting for our plane, I was in a small gift shop and had to hold myself up against a wall because I “thought” I was getting light headed and losing my balance because of low blood sugar. Nope, turns out we were feeling the earthquake before it hit hard lol. This little Floridian experienced her first earthquake ever. Thank God that He is in control because we made it on our flight to Thailand with no problems.
Driving to the house, we got a sneak peak of what we would be encountering this week. We passed Nana Plaza around 2 A.M and saw tons of people on the streets, Thai women dressed seductively looking for American men. There was one Thai woman who caught my attention. She was in a strapless red dress, walking with an American man in a blue v-neck sweater, laughing and chatting it up when another American man passed right by them. She let go of the man in the blue sweater and went for the other man. The other man brushed her off and she tried to run back to the man in the blue sweater but he already walked off and she stood on the side walk ready to find someone else. That is the reality of Thai women on the streets of Nana Plaza. This is there life. I hope and pray that we’re able to shine a little light, even if it’s the equivalence of a dim LED light in a dark room.
I will try to post some pictures later on today, right now my internet connection keeps going in and out. Thank you to everyone who is praying for Denise and I. Please continue your prayers because we need them.
