Tonight marks my second full day back in Thailand and it feels good to be back. When I arrived on Saturday night, I stayed up till about 4:30 A.M. since I was wired and figured I should use my energy to unpack, because if I didn't do it then, it would never get done. I woke up early Sunday morning to go church and then later on in the evening I brought some interns to the Sunday night market. I figured if I could keep myself awake till at least 9, I'd be able to fall asleep and get myself on a normal sleeping schedule. Around 7 P.M. I was so exhausted I couldn't keep my eyes open. I knew that the girls I was with wanted to continue shopping, so I told them I was going to get a foot massage so I could sit down or I was going to fall over from exhaustion. No more than 2 minutes in the chair, I was out, like mouth open, deep sleep, couldn't wake up out. Which wasn't surprising since I had about 6 hours of sleep within 48 hours of traveling and getting settled. When I woke up about 40 minutes later, I was the laughing stock of the row of Thai massagers. I didn't care, it was the best sleep I ever got in a public place.
Today I went to one of our girls homes for dinner, to visit some of the children who didn't go back home for summer break. There were three girls who stayed behind out of about fifty. As I was talking to one of the house helpers who was in charge, she mentioned that two boys from the other home on the property stayed behind as well.
It's heartbreaking to know that these children can't go home because of many reasons. Maybe there isn't anyone waiting for them, maybe they're in danger of being sold by a family member, maybe they're not wanted. In times like these, it's nice to have some one on one time with these children. Before dinner, I brought over Operation and Guess who. It was adorable watching the girls freak out everytime the metal tweezers hit the metal rim of the body parts in Operation and competing with each other in Guess Who. After dinner, I took the children to get some ice cream. One of the boys was excited to sit in the backseat of my little car, he said he'd never been in the backseat of a little car before. It made me smile to see these kids excited for car rides and ice cream.
Tomorrow morning I am driving two of our interns to do their border runs and to see the newest home opened. Pray for our safety on the road and the crossing over to another country!

Glad you made it back safe. Praying for you and those adorable kiddos. “But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in time of trouble.”Ps. 37:39
